The Gifts of Time and Talents
Thousands of hours of energy and effort are kindly donated each year by residents and friends who are committed to service and to our ministry. From the residents who deliver mail every day, to the scouts who assist in cleaning our chapel chairs, to the gentleman who teaches a computer class, each volunteer is a vital link in our mission to serve older adults with dignity, fairness, compassion and inclusiveness.
Potential volunteer opportunities include:
-
One on one Internet and e-mail tutoring
-
Clerical assistance in marketing, pastoral care, or social services
-
Musical entertainment
-
Art or craft instruction
-
Leading a Bible study or worship service
-
Assisting with annual fundraising projects and marketing events
-
Creating new clubs or assisting with established programs
-
Helping with outdoor gardening projects or current improvement projects
-
Being a friend to those of our residents who have no family nearby. Small everyday tasks become daunting to one with mobility or other challenges.
-
Connection with a person who cares can be the greatest gift of all.
Find a match for your interests and skills or get involved in an area completely new to you. If the satisfaction and personal growth you experience from your efforts sound like reasonable compensation – please consider Gambrill Gardens and you will reap even more benefits – the bonus of smiles, hugs, and lasting friendships.
“Volunteers are not paid -
not because they are worthless,
but because they are priceless.”
